Three Coverbands at Kupla 12.4.2024
On the second Friday of April, Kupla is bursting with the power of borrowed tunes, when three individual ensembles perform cover songs from different parts of the world and in several different languages. The spectrum of musical styles reaches from fully acoustic stem song harmonies to danceable Latin rhythms and stylish pop songs. Ear candy for many tastes!
MONDAY FALLS
Monday Falls is a four-member ensemble performing international and domestic hits. The program includes loan songs in a unique style in Spanish, English, Finnish, Swedish, Portuguese – and, if necessary, also in Italian and French!
The band performs semi-acoustically with guitars, bass and caju-boks, performing mainly Spanish-language pop-rock, e.g. Alvaro Soler, Juanes, Shakira, JLo, Maná, Manu Chao.
Valia Wistuba (vocals, guitar), Maaria Kurki (bass, vocals), Janne Toiviainen (guitar), Juha Wilkman (percussions)
LES CHOUETTES
A band playing atmospheric French pop from the 1960s and 1970s. In addition to our own songs, we borrow e.g. From Serge Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy and France Gall.
Annastiina Heikkilä (vocals, keyboards), Silja Martikainen (guitar), Kimmo Laakso (bass), Lari Mäkelä (drums)
ONE TOO TRIVIAL
One Too Trivial is a fresh acoustic trio from the capital region. The harmonious ensemble of three stemma songs and acoustic guitar presents unique and ear-pleasing versions, e.g. From songs by Fleet Foxes, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Jayhawks and R.E.M.
Eveliina Allonen (vocals), Teemu Hokkanen (vocals), Aleksi Keurulainen (vocals, guitars)
